Job summary

Indo Arab seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee operation and maintenance of high voltage (HV) distribution systems at client facilities in Doha, Qatar. You will supervise switching, energization, and fault diagnostics to ensure uninterrupted power and reliability across assets.

The ideal candidate holds an Electrical Engineering degree with HV authorization, a license, and 3+ years in supervisory HV roles within Oil & Gas, Utilities, or Power Plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• HV authorization/competency certificate required.
• Electrical license in High Voltage is required.
• Certifications in HV Switching, Protection Systems, or Power Distribution are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operation and maintenance of HV electrical distribution systems.
• Ensure uninterrupted power supply across facilities and client assets.
• Monitor electrical equipment performance and system reliability.
• Coordinate switching operations for maintenance shutdowns and emergencies.
• Supervise energization/de-energization of electrical systems.
• Ensure proper load balancing and system optimization.
• Coordinate emergency restoration of electrical services following outages.
• Monitor demand and recommend energy optimization initiatives.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for HV equipment.
• Ensure maintenance complies with manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Lead troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of HV systems.
• Investigate equipment failures and determine root causes.
• Coordinate emergency repairs to restore operations.
• Supervise replacement of faulty electrical equipment.
• Verify proper operation following repairs.
• Plan and supervise HV switching operations.
• Prepare and review switching schedules.
• Verify switching procedures before implementation.
• Ensure switching activities comply with approved procedures.
• Review electrical work permits.
• Ensure works carried out under valid permits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• High Voltage Authorization/Competency Certificate.
• Electrical License in High voltage authorization.
• Additional certifications in HV Switching, Protection Systems, or Power Distribution are an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of electrical maintenance experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role involving High Voltage systems.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Utilities, Power Plants, Facilities Management, or Industrial Projects.
• Experience working with HV systems up to 11kV, 33kV, or higher is preferred.
