Job summary

Black & Grey HR in Doha, Qatar, seeks a Network Technician to oversee passive network infrastructure, cabling installation, maintenance, and documentation. You will prepare BOQs, design layouts, and ensure accurate site reports, patching matrices, and inventory control.

The role requires hands-on installation, patch management, and remote support as needed, working with a team to deliver reliable connectivity for critical operations.

Qualifications

• 8 years in IT Support with customer-facing responsibilities.
• 2–3 years in a directly comparable role with similar duties.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (CS or Electronics & Communication).
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or equivalent.
• Experience with UTP, FOC, multi-core and LAN cabling.
• Experience mounting and patching active devices.
• Proficiency with passive network tools (cable testers, crimpers, Fluke).
• Ability to design network cabling layouts for events.

Responsibilities

• Execute installation, maintenance, and repair for UTP, FOC, multi-core, and LAN cabling solutions.
• Perform scheduled maintenance to ensure ongoing optimal network performance.
• Operate tools, equipment, and materials for cabling installation and troubleshooting.
• Conduct site inspections and generate BOQs for new installations and maintenance projects.
• Maintain inventory of network components for installations and repairs.
• Design and deploy network cabling overlays for events and large-scale functions.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate project status clearly.
• Prepare, update and maintain network drawings and patching matrices.
• Mount and patch active devices, perform patch management, and provide remote support.
