Job summary

Nakilat is seeking a Chief Commercial & Business Development Officer to lead all commercial and chartering activities related to LNG and Non-LNG shipping in Qatar. You will monitor market trends, build relationships with major market players, and evaluate business opportunities to support Nakilat’s strategy and objectives.

The role requires deep experience in LNG/LPG chartering, strong leadership, and the ability to manage negotiations, contracts, and performance across a global fleet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; master’s preferred.
• 12–15 years in chartering/shipping with leadership experience.
• LNG chartering experience; LPG/tanker experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the formulation of divisional strategy and translate it into annual operational plans.
• Manage chartering and post-fixture operations for LNG/LPG vessels; engage market players and customers.
• Provide guidance on Charter Party terms and monitor vessel performance against agreements.
• Lead commercial analysis, evaluate opportunities, and report to senior management.
• Negotiate contracts including joint ventures, shipbuilding, and charter party agreements.
• Oversee SHEQ compliance and drive safety, health, environment, and quality within the Commercial department.
