Oryx University, in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University, invites applications for Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. The role delivers undergraduate modules, mentors students, and contributes to programme development and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Proven university teaching and research experience.
• Exposure to Mechatronics is preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Evidence of commitment to high-quality teaching, learning, and student success.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• A track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience in curriculum design, module leadership, and quality assurance.
• Experience supervising research projects at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
• Engagement in consultancy, innovation, or applied industry projects.
• Involvement in programme development or accreditation processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess undergraduate modules in Mechanical Engineering.
• Develop and update teaching materials aligned with current academic and industry developments.
• Contribute to the design, validation, and enhancement of academic programmes.
• Prepare and moderate assessments in accordance with LJMU academic regulations and assessment frameworks.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and provide academic mentoring to students.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities aligned with the University’s priorities.
• Collaborate with industry partners and advisory boards to enhance programme relevance.
• Contribute to CPD and short courses.
• Participate in academic committees, departmental meetings, and institutional initiatives.
• Commit to continuous professional development and support the university’s growth.
