Job summary

Qatar Design Consortium is seeking a Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer to drive consultancy projects in Qatar. You will oversee multi-project instrumentation design, coordinating across engineering, safety and project teams to ensure technical quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires extensive experience in oil and gas brownfield/greenfield projects and expertise with AutoCAD, INtools and ETAP, with strong mentoring of engineers and CAD staff.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Communication, or Electronics and Instrumentation.
• A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience, including at least 15 years in Qatar/GCC.
• A minimum of 15 years of instrumentation design engineering experience in an engineering firm.
• Experience in oil and gas brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD, INtools, and ETAP.
• Ability to work independently, lead projects, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation and control consultancy projects, ensuring technical quality and client satisfaction.
• Plan deliverables, staffing, schedules and resource allocation; review engineering documents.
• Coordinate with engineering, safety and project management teams; monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Mentor engineers, designers and CAD personnel; review control system architectures, alarms and interlock logic.
• Coordinate SIF requirements, SIS design and close-out of safety studies; lead site surveys and brownfield updates.
• Assess technical risks, interfaces and constructability; support MOC, shutdown planning and SIMOPS.
