Senior HR Application Specialist Role Purpose

The Senior HR Application Specialist is a technical and functional expert for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) and related technology solutions, ensuring stability, integrity, and continuous enhancement of payroll systems and integrations. The role translates business requirements into system solutions, manages configuration changes, testing, defect resolution, payroll related integrations, and release activities, while providing expert support for payroll processing, payroll posting, banking interfaces, and financial integrations.

Key Accountabilities

The Senior HR Application Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, support, enhancement, and integration of HR and payroll technology solutions while supporting business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

SAP SuccessFactors & HR Systems Support

Provide functional support and consulting for ECP, including payroll processing, off cycle payments, payroll posting, payroll validation activities and transmission of bank files. Analyze business requirements and translate them into system solutions and process improvements. Investigate and resolve production issues, system defects, and data discrepancies. Support system enhancements, configuration changes, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance activities. Coordinate payroll related testing, reconciliation, posting, reversal validation, and integration monitoring.

Integration Management

Manage HR system integrations involving SAP SuccessFactors, S/4HANA, banking platforms, and external systems. Coordinate integration testing, interface monitoring, issue resolution, and deployment activities. Work closely with Finance, Treasury, S/4HANA, and infrastructure teams to ensure end to end process continuity. Participate in the design and evaluation of long term integration solutions and architecture improvements. Monitoring replication issues between SAP SuccessFactors and S/4HANA.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Vendor Management

Serve as a key contact point between HR, Payroll, Finance, Treasury, Digital Business Solutions, and implementation partners. Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, testing sessions, and status meetings. Track action items and coordinate delivery across multiple stakeholders and project teams. Contribute to solution design, documentation, and project governance activities. Plan and execute system integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and regression testing. Validate business scenarios, payroll outputs, banking interfaces, and financial postings.

HR Transformation Projects

Provide technical inputs to HR transformation initiatives, including S/4HANA implementation and system integration activities. Design and coordination of HR cutover plans, ensuring alignment with business timelines and system readiness. Perform impact assessments to evaluate the changes required on integration.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field.

Professional Experience

10+ years of relevant experience in SAP HCM and SAP SuccessFactors Payroll. Experience with SAP HCM, S/4HANA, payroll integrations, banking interfaces, and HR technology implementations. Proven experience supporting end to end implementation and support projects.
