Job summary

UCC Energy seeks a Senior Financial Controller to lead financial control, treasury, tax, compliance and finance operations for its upstream oil and gas business. The role ensures reliable reporting, liquidity management and audit readiness.

The successful candidate will oversee Record to Report, monthly close, IFRS reporting, SAP controls and finance team development, with extensive upstream exposure and international travel as required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Senior controllership, treasury and team leadership experience.
• Experience in oil & gas operations, preferably operator/owner perspective.
• Strong IFRS, financial control and tax knowledge.
• ERP/SAP controls ownership and process compliance.

Job description

The Senior Financial Controller will lead financial control, treasury, tax, compliance and finance operations for UCC Energy’s upstream oil and gas business. The role is responsible for reliable reporting, liquidity control, compliance, governance, audit readiness and finance team capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Own financial control, Record to Report, monthly close, statutory/IFRS reporting and audit management.
• Manage treasury, cash forecasting, banking, payments, guarantees, facilities and working capital.
• Oversee tax strategy, local tax compliance, statutory filings and corporate tax governance.
• Lead finance operations, transaction processing, master data, SAP controls and process compliance.

Candidate Requirements

• Oil & Gas operations and/or Joint Venture experience, preferably from the operator/owner’s perspective rather than the contractor’s side, is mandatory for all roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
• Typically 12+ years of progressive finance experience.
• Senior controllership, treasury and team leadership experience.
• Significant upstream oil and gas/E&P exposure.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial control, treasury, tax, finance operations and E&P accounting.
• ERP/SAP control ownership experience and strong analytical capability.
• Professional English and ability to travel as required.
