Job summary

Urban Ridge Supplies in Qatar is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – BIM to lead electrical design and BIM coordination for high-profile building and infrastructure projects. This is an initial 2-month contract with strong extension potential and is ideal for professionals who can mobilise quickly.

The role focuses on LV/MV distribution, BIM modelling in Revit MEP, coordination across disciplines, and ensuring compliance with international standards and BEP/CDE procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• 8–10 years of electrical design experience in building services or MEP consultancies.
• 3–5 years hands-on BIM/Revit MEP experience is essential.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary building projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of IEC, NFPA, BS international standards.

Responsibilities

• Design LV/MV power distribution for commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
• Carry out load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit, protection coordination, and fault level studies.
• Produce single-line diagrams, power layouts, lighting layouts, containment drawings, schedules, and docs.
• Design indoor/outdoor and emergency lighting using Dialux or Relux.
• Develop fire alarm, emergency comms, PA, voice evacuation, and life-safety systems.
• Develop ELV systems (CCTV, access control, structured cabling, BMS, IPTV, nurse call).
• Perform generator sizing, UPS sizing, harmonic analysis, and energy efficiency studies.
• Create 3D BIM models in Revit MEP and coordinate in Navisworks; manage clashes.
• Maintain Revit families for electrical equipment and containment systems.
• Coordinate with architecture, structure, mechanical, and public health teams through all project stages.
• Prepare design docs for concept, detail, tender, and construction phases.
• Ensure BEP, CDE procedures, and international standards compliance.

About the Opportunity

An established engineering consultancy in Qatar is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer – BIM to support the delivery of high-profile building and infrastructure projects. This is an initial 2-month contract with strong potential for extension, making it ideal for professionals who are immediately available or can mobilise at short notice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical designs, developing BIM models, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all engineering deliverables meet project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop LV/MV electrical power distribution systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.

• Prepare electrical calculations including load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and fault level calculations.

• Produce single-line diagrams, power layouts, lighting layouts, containment drawings, panel schedules, and detailed engineering documentation.

• Design indoor, outdoor, and emergency lighting systems using Dialux or Relux.

• Design fire alarm, emergency communication, public address, voice evacuation, and life safety systems in accordance with international standards.

• Develop designs for ELV systems including CCTV, access control, structured cabling, BMS, IPTV, nurse call, and building automation systems.

• Perform generator sizing, UPS calculations, power factor correction, harmonic analysis, and energy efficiency studies.

• Develop accurate 3D electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit MEP.

• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve multidisciplinary clashes using Navisworks.

• Create, modify, and maintain Revit families for electrical equipment, lighting fixtures, panels, and containment systems.

• Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, mechanical, and public health engineering teams throughout all project stages.

• Prepare design documentation suitable for concept, detailed design, tender, and construction phases.

• Ensure compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Common Data Environment (CDE) procedures, and international engineering standards.

• Support project managers and lead engineers in delivering projects on schedule while maintaining high-quality technical standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum 8–10 years of electrical engineering design experience within building services or MEP consultancy environments.

• At least 3–5 years of hands-on BIM/Revit MEP experience.

• Demonstrated experience delivering multidisciplinary building or infrastructure projects.

• Strong understanding of IEC, NFPA, BS, and other relevant international electrical standards.

• Experience working within BIM environments and coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.

• Previous experience on GCC projects is highly desirable.

• Chartered Engineer status or Autodesk Revit Professional Certification is advantageous.
