Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to monitor and inspect electrical works at pumping stations and sewage treatment plants. You will review design documents, assess electrical equipment, and support commissioning activities in Qatar.

The role requires chartered status preferred, with extensive experience in reviewing data sets and ensuring compliance with technical specs, standards, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution.
• Chartered Engineer status is highly preferred.
• Experience reviewing PPPA data sets to confirm compliance with technical specs and industry practice.

Responsibilities

• Design knowledge of pumping stations and electrical equipment used in STWs and sub-stations.
• Review and comment on related project submissions and contract documents.
• Witness and participate in testing and commissioning (FAT/SAT) of electrical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with QCS requirements and applicable laws.
• Provide No Objection recommendations for inspection and commissioning plans.

About the Role:
Mott MacDonald is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineerto monitoring and inspecting the electrical works on pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects.

Key responsibilities and dutiesare listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Experience in managing, reviewing and approving of design documents and drawings associated with the design of electrical power supply (HV LV) electrical plant design (motors, MCC, power supply) PID’s, Control Philosophy, all that would be associated with sewerage pumping stations and STWs other associated process type buildings
• Must be able to demonstrate the following key skills.
  
  • Design knowledge of pumping stations and various electrical equipment used in STWs
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical specifications and QCS requirements
  • Detailed knowledge operation and maintenance requirements of Electrical equipment.
  • Design for Primary and Secondary substations
  • Peer review electrical related contract documents, calculations & reports
• Review, comment / recommend acceptance or otherwise of related Project Company’s submissions.
• Detailed knowledge of testing and commissioning (FAT & SAT) of electrical equipment
• Knowledge of Kahramaa Specifications
• Must be able to review, verify, comment, monitor and provide the No Objection recommendations for the Inspections, Pre-commissioning and
• Commissioning Plan submitted by the Project Company.
• Performance of actual design duties and other related duties when directed.
• Experience in commissioning of the electrical installations, and for the witnessing of acceptance tests by all concerned parties and government departments.

Candidate Specification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution and with a professional career development records all as approved by the Engineer.
• Chartered Engineer in recognized Professional Institution, all to the approval of the Engineer is highly preferred.
• Must have extensive experience in reviewing and verifying all reviewable data set out in the PPPA to confirm compliance with the technical specifications, Applicable Law, Relevant Performance Standards, Approvals and Good Industry Practice.

• Know how to prioritize, advocate focus and accountability
• Use clear and frequent communications, drive execution and results.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
