Mott MacDonald in Qatar is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to monitor and inspect mechanical works on pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects, ensuring compliance with PPPA, QCS, and international standards. You will attend progress meetings, review drawings, and support QA/QC procedures while maintaining clear communication with the project team to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and proven supervision experience;

• Experience supervising installation of mechanical equipment for pump stations and sewage treatment plants

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and inspect mechanical works and ensure compliance with PPPA, QCS, and international standards.
• Attend progress and technical meetings with Authority and Project Company.
• Review shop drawings against contracts and specs; check local codes.
• Support review of As-built drawings and conduct material inspections.
• Address inspection requests from contractors and take appropriate action.
• Conduct site inspections as required by the Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Maintain site activity reports and progress updates for inspection.
• Provide technical assistance to resolve electrical issues if needed.

About the Role:

Mott MacDonald is looking for a Mechanical Inspector to monitoring and inspecting the mechanical works on pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects.

Key responsibilities and duties

are listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Monitoring and inspecting the mechanical works and ensuring compliance with the PPPA, stipulated standards, compliance with QCS and best international standards.
• Attend progress and technical meetings with the Authority and the Project Company.
• Checking mechanical equipment and works executed by the Project team and also assist in the review of the As-built drawings, and for conducting material inspection and site acceptance tests etc.
• Respond to and attend Inspection Requests submitted by the contractor and recommend/take appropriate action where necessary.
• Conduct site inspections when required by the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE)
• Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications; ensure local codes and statutory requirements are adhered to and international best practice is adopted
• Monitor work and assess the HSE and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications and HSE and risk assessments
• Apply and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for the site
• Maintain reports for all site activities including progress reports, ensuring are readily available for inspection
• Provide technical assistance to resolve any electrical issues that may arise

Candidate Specification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Institution to the approval of the Engineer
• Experience of supervision of the installation of mechanical equipment related to similar size pump station and sewage treatment plant projects
• Good knowledge of local materials standards
• Safeguard - To operate ethically and with integrity, while prioritizing safety and security in all that you do
• Know how to prioritize, advocate focus and accountability
• Use clear and frequent communications, drive execution and results.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
