Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Electrical Inspector to monitor and inspect electrical works on pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects. You will ensure compliance with PPPA, standards, QCS and international best practice, attending progress meetings with the Authority and Project Company.

The candidate should have a Electrical Engineering degree and relevant supervision experience, with strong communication skills and a focus on safety, quality, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution
• Experience supervising electrical works on pump station and sewage treatment plant projects
• Good knowledge of local materials standards

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and inspecting the electrical works and ensuring compliance with the PPPA, standards, QCS and international best practice
• Attend progress and technical meetings with the Authority and the Project Company
• Review As-built drawings and assist in material inspection and site acceptance tests
• Respond to Inspection Requests from the contractor and advise on action
• Conduct site inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer and ARE
• Review shop drawings for contract compliance and local/ international code adherence
• Monitor HSE and environmental issues and ensure contract compliance
• Maintain reports for all site activities and progress updates
• Provide technical assistance to resolve electrical issues

About the Role:
Mott MacDonald is looking for a Electrical Inspector to monitoring and inspecting the electrical works on pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects.

Key responsibilities and dutiesare listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Monitoring and inspecting the electrical works and ensuring compliance with the PPPA, stipulated standards, compliance with QCS and best international standards.
• Attend progress and technical meetings with the Authority and the Project Company.
• Checking electrical equipment and works executed by the Project Company and also assist in the review of the As-built drawings, and for conducting material inspection and site acceptance tests etc.
• Respond to and attend Inspection Requests submitted by the contractor and recommend/take appropriate action where necessary.
• Conduct site inspections when required by the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE)
• Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications; ensure local codes and statutory requirements are adhered to and international best practice is adopted
• Monitor work and assess the HSE and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications and HSE and risk assessments
• Apply and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for the site
• Maintain reports for all site activities including progress reports, ensuring are readily available for inspection
• Provide technical assistance to resolve any electrical issues that may arise

Candidate Specification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution to the approval of the Engineer
• Experience of supervision of electrical works related to similar size pump station and sewage treatment plant projects
• Good knowledge of local materials standards
• Safeguard - To operate ethically and with integrity, while prioritizing safety and security in all that you do
• Know how to prioritize, advocate focus and accountability
• Use clear and frequent communications, drive execution and results.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
