Job summary

Qatar Airways in Doha is seeking a Translations Officer to provide accurate Arabic-English translation of official correspondences, reports and technical documents. The role requires handling confidential material and adhering to approved terminology and templates, on-site in Doha with MATAR management and stakeholders.

You will translate diverse content, liaise with internal teams to clarify source text, and maintain glossaries and translation references while delivering timely high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience in translation or related field.
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in translation, interpretation, or bilingual communication in corporate/government setting.
• Proven ability to translate from Arabic to English and vice versa with source/target language balance.
• Professional translation qualification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate official correspondence, reports, forms, policies, technical documents and aviation-related materials between Arabic and English with accuracy.
• Liaise with stakeholders to clarify unclear text and terminology before finalising translations.
• Apply professional judgement for sensitive or executive-level documents to reflect meaning and tone.
• Research terminology to ensure consistency across documents and maintain glossaries.
• Maintain bilingual terminology, style guides and templates for consistency.
• Review and proofread translated materials to ensure linguistic accuracy and proper formatting.
• Provide verbal interpretation during meetings and events when required.
• Coordinate with Document Control to version-control and file translations in governance systems.
• Monitor translation requests and report workload and turnaround to support KPIs.
