Senior Agricultural Engineer
Location: Qatar
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall day-to-day operations and performance of the branch
- Lead and supervise engineers, horticulturists, supervisors, technicians, and project teams
- Manage indoor and outdoor plant operations, including plant selection, sourcing, installation, maintenance, replacement, and quality control
- Develop plant solutions suitable for indoor environments, hotels, offices, residences, commercial spaces, gardens, and outdoor landscapes
- Conduct site inspections and assess plant, horticultural, irrigation, and landscaping requirements
- Develop and review landscape, horticulture, indoor plant, outdoor plant, and irrigation designs
- Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions
- Review drawings, specifications, scope of work, and tender documents
- Prepare accurate project costing and maintain required profit margins
- Coordinate projects from design and estimation through execution and handover
- Manage manpower, plants, materials, equipment, logistics, and subcontractors
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Develop plant maintenance and horticultural solutions for commercial and residential clients
- Identify new business opportunities related to landscaping, indoor plants, outdoor plants, horticulture, irrigation, and plant maintenance
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, technical presentations, and commercial negotiations
- Monitor project budgets, progress, quality, productivity, and profitability
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, value engineering, and operational improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Landscape Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in landscaping, horticulture, indoor/outdoor plants, irrigation, agriculture, or related contracting
- Previous experience in branch management, project management, or a senior technical/commercial role
- Strong knowledge of indoor and outdoor plants, plant care, horticulture, landscape construction, and irrigation systems
- Strong experience in design, BOQ preparation, estimation, costing, and tendering
- Proficiency in Auto CAD, MS Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client-management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and clients simultaneously
- GCC/Qatar experience is preferred
- Valid Qatar driving licence is an advantage
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be able to independently manage a branch and connect indoor plant solutions, outdoor landscaping, horticulture, irrigation, design, estimation, sales, project execution, and operations.
The candidate should be capable of managing the complete project cycle: Client Requirement, Site Survey, Plant/ Landscape Design, BOQ, Estimation, Proposal/Tender, Negotiation, Execution, Maintenance, Handover.
