Job summary

NOOR Recruitment Middle East is seeking (SENIOR) PROJECT ENGINEERS to lead major road projects in Qatar. You will manage and supervise assigned projects, ensuring quality, budget and schedule, and handle day-to-day contractual aspects to meet Ashghal standards.

Proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory, with a chartered status preferred and a minimum of 12 years’ experience in design, construction and procurement of major road projects. Final interviews will be held in Spain and/or Portugal.

Qualifications

• University degree in civil engineering.
• Proficient in English and Arabic, written and spoken.
• Chartered engineer status or working towards chartered engineering status.
• Minimum of 12 years experience in design, construction, and procurement of major road projects.
• Experience administering consultant and contractor contracts for major road projects.
• Experience managing a team of professional staff.
• Desirable experience with government agencies or clients at a senior level.
• Desirable experience working in Qatar.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor and supervise the assigned projects in a specific area ensuring completion to quality, budget and schedule.
• Manages the day-to-day operational & contract aspects of multiple projects.
• Provide feedback regarding project progress, deviations, changes and ensuring that the projects are delivered to Ashghal Standards.
• Handover the site to the contractor with possession, pre-contract kickoff, and RO approvals.
• Review and approve project control system to measure progress, identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor traffic diversions (in coordination with traffic unit) to ensure they are effective and safe.
• Final interview will be in Spain and/or Portugal.

(SENIOR) PROJECT ENGINEERS

• Responsible for management, monitoring and supervising of the assigned projects in a specific area ensuring completion to quality, budget and schedule
• Manages the day-to-day operational & contract aspects of multiple projects.
• Responsible for providing feedback regarding project progress, deviations, changes and ensuring that the projects are delivered to Ashghal Standards.
• Handover the site (possession of site), Pre-contract meeting (kickoff), and RO’s and approvals, officially to the contractor.
• Review and approve project control system which measure the progress /performance, provide early warning of deviations from plan and identifies corrective actions to be taken.
• Monitoring (after liaise with traffic unit) traffic diversions and ensure it’s effective and safe
• FINAL INTERVIEW WILL BE IN SPAIN AND/OR PORTUGAL
• MANDATORY: ARAB AND ENGLISH SPEAKERS, 12 YEARS ROADS ENGINEER EXPERIENCE

Mandatory requirements

• University degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as civil engineering.
• Proficient in English and Arabic, written and spoken.

Desirable requirement

• Chartered engineer status from a recognized institution or working towards chartered engineering status or registration as a professional project manager.
• A minimum of 12 years experience involved with the design, construction, and procurement of major road projects.
• Administration of consultant and contractor contracts related to the delivery of major road projects.
• Experienced in the management of a team of professional staff.
• Desirable to have experience in working with and within government agencies or clients side generally at a senior level.
• Desirable to have experience of working in Qatar.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
