Chartered Resident Engineer - Highway Project

Provide oversight of construction supervision for highway and roads aspects of Expressways Projects in Qatar. Ensure design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site, and that construction contract requirements are followed. Report to the Senior Resident Engineer responsible for the Expressways Project, and supervise Assistant Resident Engineers, Highways Engineers, Pavement Specialists and works inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction of highways and roads across complex urban/sub‑urban Expressways projects.
• Ensure accurate implementation of design documentation and compliance with construction contract requirements.
• Report to the Senior Resident Engineer and coordinate with stakeholders and adjacent projects.
• Lead and mentor Assistant Resident Engineers, Highways Engineers, Pavement Specialist and works inspectors.

Qualifications

• Must be a Chartered Engineer or hold PE qualification.
• Minimum 15 years post‑graduate experience in design, site supervision and construction management of major highways projects.
• At least 5 years post‑chartered (or PE registration) experience.
• Recent previous experience (within last 5 years) as a Resident Engineer for major highway projects that are complex in nature, ideally located in the Middle East region.
• BSc in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognised and accredited university.
• Strong understanding of site supervision and construction management of complex highways projects.
• Fluent written and spoken English with excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.
• Arabic language skills are beneficial but not essential.
• Enthusiastic about improving safety performance of site operations in Qatar.
• Good leadership skills and ability to work in a multi‑cultural and multi‑disciplinary team.
• Effective communication skills with site teams, motivating them to meet project objectives.
