Job summary

Qualifications

• MME registration and active license in good standing.
• Qatar experience required.
• Minimum 12 years of highway engineering experience.
• Experience leading senior‑level highway projects from design through construction.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM platforms.
• Knowledge of construction management, scheduling, and cost estimation.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Familiarity with Middle East construction standards and local regulations.
• Preferred experience with traffic modeling software.
• Preferred knowledge of safety management systems and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop highway infrastructure projects including roadway alignment, drainage, and traffic management.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams through all project phases from concept to construction.
• Conduct detailed analyses and feasibility studies for project viability.
• Ensure designs comply with local regs, international standards, and Qatar/Middle East safety codes.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to meet targets.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and government agencies for approvals.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and inspections of construction adherence to specs.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM for design and documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, specs, and construction drawings for submittals.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and evolving standards.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Highways to join our organization in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in highway engineering, a proven track record of successful project delivery, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Design and develop comprehensive highway infrastructure projects, including roadway alignment, drainage systems, and traffic management solutions
• Lead and mentor engineering teams throughout all project phases, from conceptual design through construction and commissioning
• Conduct detailed technical analyses and feasibility studies to evaluate project viability and identify potential challenges
• Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, international standards, and safety protocols specific to Qatar and the Middle East region
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within financial parameters
• Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and government agencies to facilitate project approvals and smooth execution
• Perform quality assurance reviews and inspections to verify construction adherence to design specifications
• Utilize advanced engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM), for design and project documentation
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings for project documentation and regulatory submission
• Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving standards in highway engineering

Qualifications

• Valid MME (professional engineering) registration and active license in good standing
• Qatar experience required
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in highway engineering and infrastructure development
• Proven experience leading senior-level highway projects from design through construction completion
• Strong expertise in highway design principles, pavement engineering, and traffic engineering
• Proficiency with industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM platforms
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction management, project scheduling, and cost estimation
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex engineering problems and develop effective solutions
• Excellent project management skills with proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities with experience mentoring junior engineers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Familiarity with Middle East construction standards, local regulations, and regional infrastructure requirements
• Preferred experience with traffic modeling software and sustainable highway design practices
• Preferred knowledge of safety management systems and environmental compliance in construction projects
