Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) per schedules and guidelines.
• Operate refrigeration plant room equipment under supervision of Senior Mechanical Engineer.
• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Ensure systems operate with minimum downtime and comply with safety standards.
• Complete maintenance work orders and document activities in CMMS.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
• Monitor performance and identify preventive improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors under AMC.
• Follow permit-to-work and safety procedures.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and operational activities for refrigeration plant room equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of refrigeration systems while minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities in accordance with approved maintenance schedules and engineering guidelines.
• Operate refrigeration plant room equipment as instructed by the Senior Mechanical Engineer.
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems and associated mechanical equipment.
• Ensure refrigeration systems operate efficiently with minimum downtime.
• Complete maintenance work orders accurately and update all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for preventive improvements.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, environmental standards, and health & safety requirements.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and equipment failures.

Contractor Coordination

• Supervise contractors performing maintenance under Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC).
• Coordinate contractor schedules for preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Inspect completed contractor work and verify compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Report contractor performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
• Ensure safe handling of refrigeration systems, refrigerants, and mechanical equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Participate in safety inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• ITI in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or a related trade; or
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Refrigeration.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of GCC experience in refrigeration plant maintenance, industrial refrigeration, or facility maintenance.
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial refrigeration systems is essential.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Experience with:
  • Ammonia Screw Compressors
  • Evaporative Condensers
  • Glycol Centrifugal Pumps
  • Compressed Air Systems
  • Snow Making Systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Proficiency in SCADA system operation and monitoring.
• Good troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
