Job summary

Teyseer Services company in Doha seeks a Chiller Technician to operate, inspect, and maintain chilled-water systems and HVAC equipment, ensuring safe, efficient performance and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities include monitoring temperatures and pressures, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing faults, leak testing, and refrigerant recovery as needed. GCC/Qatar experience is a plus for this on-site role in commercial facilities.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma / Trade Certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on chiller maintenance experience.
• Experience with both air‑cooled and water‑cooled chillers is preferred.
• Experience with centrifugal, screw, scroll, or reciprocating chillers is an advantage.
• Experience in commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, industrial facilities, or large‑scale facilities management is preferred.
• GCC/Qatar experience is an advantage.

Job Purpose

The Chiller Technician is responsible for the operation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of chilled-water systems and associated HVAC equipment. The technician ensures chillers operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while maintaining the required cooling performance and minimizing equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor various types of chillers, including air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.

• Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of chillers and associated equipment.

• Monitor chilled-water supply and return temperatures, condenser-water temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and operating parameters.

• Inspect compressors, evaporators, condensers, expansion valves, pumps, cooling towers, and associated components.

• Check oil levels, refrigerant conditions, vibration, noise, and abnormal operating conditions.

• Ensure chillers operate within manufacturer-recommended parameters.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance plans and manufacturer recommendations.

• Clean and inspect condenser and evaporator components.

• Check and clean strainers, filters, heat exchangers, coils, and associated equipment.

• Inspect chilled-water and condenser-water pumps, valves, piping, and insulation.

• Inspect cooling towers, fans, nozzles, fill material, and water circulation systems where applicable.

• Check electrical connections, control panels, sensors, contactors, and protective devices.

• Record operating parameters and identify potential problems before equipment failure occurs.

• Diagnose and rectify chiller breakdowns and abnormal operating conditions.

• Troubleshoot high/low-pressure trips, compressor faults, flow problems, high discharge temperature, oil-pressure issues, sensor faults, and control-system alarms.

• Identify refrigerant leaks and carry out approved leak-testing procedures.

• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, vacuuming, and charging as required.

• Troubleshoot chilled-water circulation and pump-related problems.

• Diagnose electrical and control-system faults using appropriate test instruments.

Desired Candidate Profile
