Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG is seeking a process engineer to provide daily process engineering support across its facilities, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operations. The role interfaces with multiple stakeholders and contributes to multidisciplinary tasks with specialised expertise.

Responsibilities include surveillance, reporting, efficiency monitoring, EMOCs/AIR, safety assessments, shutdown planning, and after-hours support. 4 years in oil/gas is required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of engineering experience in an oil and gas environment.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day process surveillance activities to ensure safe, reliable and optimum production.
• Assist in surveillance reports, highlight deviations, troubleshoot and escalate concerns timely.
• Monitor system and process efficiency to improve asset performance and provide engineering recommendations.
• Assist EMOCs, other process engineering studies and conduct EMOCs and AIR.
• Participate in FRAs, RCFA, RS, HAZOPs, HAZID and other assessments to address process safety and reliability issues.
• Provide shutdown assistance including scoping/planning for process-related activities.
• Participate in engineering call-out rosters and address after-hours requests as required.
• Attend operational meetings to address queries requiring Process Engineering support.
• Communicate updates to Process Engineering Lead and support project queries.

Job description

• Provide daily process engineering support necessary for all QatarEnergy LNG operated facilities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations.
• Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Required to contribute to multi-disciplinary tasks while providing expertise in specialised area.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

• Support day-to-day process surveillance activities in compliance with QLMS ASV L3 process ‘Perform Plant Facilities Surveillance’ for all QatarEnergy LNG assets to ensure safe, reliable and optimum production. Support in the creation of surveillance reports, highlighting deviations, recommend troubleshooting and ensure timely escalation of concerns.
• Support in monitoring the system and process efficiency to improve asset performance and suggest engineering recommendations in line with existing procedures and operating manuals.
• Assist Process Engineering support to EMOCs, other process engineering studies for the assigned area and conduct the assigned EMOCs and AIR.
• Assist and contribute in FRAs, RCFAs, RS, HAZOPs, HAZID and other assessments to address process safety and reliability issues.
• Provide shutdown assistance to respective asset, including shutdown scoping/planning for process related activities.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

• Participate in engineering call-out roster for assets to address Operations requests for after-hours process engineering support as required.
• Attend operational meetings (e.g., daily operations meetings, ALT meetings, SHE committee meetings, etc.), to address operational queries requiring Process Engineering Support.
• Communicate regularly with Process Engineering Lead to provide updates and highlight the key issues to ensure proper management support.
• Support preliminary analysis and design to process engineering project queries.
• Assist in the development of the annual business plan assumptions data for Corporate Planning department in compliance with Annual Business Plan Assumptions Procedure.

Qualifications

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 4 years’ engineering experience in an oil and gas environment.
