Job summary

Swan Global is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician for an offshore shutdown project. You will perform installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of HV/LV systems on hazardous offshore platforms, ensuring safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include following QP safety rules (LOTO, arc flash), conducting insulation tests, loop checks, relay calibration, and coordinating with instrumentation and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or trade certification.
  • Certifications (mandatory): COMPEX (Ex01-Ex04) for hazardous areas; BOSIET/HUET, OPITO H2S/BA; HV/LV Switching Certification.
  • Experience: 5+ years in offshore oil & gas electrical maintenance, with 3+ years in shutdowns.
  • Familiarity with QP, Shell, or TotalEnergies standards.

Responsibilities

  • Shutdown electrical works: preventive/corrective maintenance on HV/LV systems (switchgear, transformers, motors, UPS); install/test cable trays, conduits, junction boxes, and lighting; troubleshoot motor control circuits, VFDs, and protection relays.
  • HSE compliance: follow QP electrical safety rules (LOTO, arc flash prevention); insulation resistance tests; loop checks, relay calibration, thermographic inspections; energization/de-energization of critical systems.
  • Documentation: update electrical logs, test reports, and as-built drawings.
  • Coordination: work with instrumentation and mechanical teams for integrated shutdown tasks.
