Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate AUT or laser scan systems on pipeline welds following client training.
• Perform circumferential weld scanning and monitor data in real time.
• Flag indications and liaise with Level II/III NDE examiners.
• Maintain scanning equipment, calibration blocks and accessories.
• Complete weld inspection records and data sheets per ITP.
• Support repair and re-inspection workflows with welding/QC teams.
• Adhere to offshore HSE, PTW procedures and site safety standards.

REVISED SCOPE

Candidates with NDT inspection experience and camera / laser / scanning equipment operation background are now welcomed for this role. PCN / CSWIP Level II UT certification is no longer mandatory. The client will provide project-specific AUT system training to shortlisted candidates prior to offshore deployment.

Role Summary

Support the pipeline weld inspection spread by operating AUT or laser camera scanning systems to examine girth welds and assist with QC data acquisition on an offshore pipeline vessel. The client will provide initial system-specific training; candidates require a solid NDT inspection foundation and demonstrable experience handling camera, laser, or scanning equipment in an industrial or pipeline environment.

Key Duties

• Operate AUT or laser weld inspection scanning systems on the pipeline following client system training
• Perform circumferential weld scanning and monitor data acquisition in real time under supervisor direction
• Flag indications and anomalies; liaise with Level II / III NDE examiner for interpretation and disposition
• Maintain scanning equipment, calibration blocks, and related accessories in serviceable condition
• Complete weld inspection records and data sheets accurately and in accordance with project ITP
• Support repair and re-inspection workflow with the welding and QC teams
• Adhere to all offshore HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, and site safety standards

Experience Required

Essential

NDT / inspection experience in an industrial, pipeline, or O&G environment

Practical experience operating camera, laser, or scanning equipment in an inspection context

Ability to follow technical inspection procedures and record data accurately

Methodical, detail-oriented approach to equipment operation and data capture

Preferred — not mandatory

AUT / PAUT / TOFD or laser weld inspection system experience

Rosen, GE, Olympus or equivalent AUT system experience

PCN / CSWIP Level I or II UT, or ASNT Level I or II UT

Pipeline or offshore project background

Any formal NDT qualification (UT, RT, MT, PT)

PCN / CSWIP Level I or II UT / ASNT Level I or II UT
