Job summary

Confidential Company in Qatar seeks an experienced NDT Technician to inspect welds and materials using RT, UT, MT, PT per project specs. You will determine acceptance based on code criteria and report non-conformities promptly.

You will work under approved NDT plans, liaise with QC inspectors, and ensure rectification is completed and re-inspected before final approval. Relevant ASNT/CSWIP qualifications and competency schemes are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering education or equivalent and NDT background.
• 4+ years in Radiography or Ultrasonic testing.
• ASNT CSWIP qualification with competency schemes (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT).

Responsibilities

• Examine welds and materials by RT/UT/PT/MT/DPT per code and contract specs.
• Determine conformity, non-conformity, and report accurately.
• Perform NDT examinations per approved plans and procedures.
• Apply codes and acceptance criteria to determine acceptance.
• Liaise with the QC inspector to confirm rectification completion.
• Report conforming work for rectification.
• Rectify and re-inspect by QC before final examination.
• Coordinate with QC to finalize rectification.

Job description

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Examine welds materials by Radiography RT Ultrasonic UT Magnetic Particle MT and Dye Penetrant PT based on code and contractual specifications
• Determine conformity non-conformity flaws and report accurately
• Perform NDT examination of welds and materials by anyone of the following materials and qualifications i e RT UT PT MT by a written Project NDT plan NDT Procedures code and Contractual Specification
• Execute the examination by approved NDT procedures and internationally recognized codes specs Determine acceptance rejection based on the defined criteria
• The technician shall liaise with the assigned QC inspector to determine the completion of rectification work
• Report conforming work for rectification
• Rectified and inspected by the QC inspector before examination by the original NDT method
• The NDT technician shall liaise with the assigned QC inspector to determine the completion of rectification work

Essential Qualificati0ns and Education:

• 5+ years of Engineering Degree/ High School Diploma
• 4+ years in Radiography or ultrasonic
• ASNT or CSWIP qualification
• Be occupationally qualified to internationally recognized schemes to determine competency (i.e., PCN, CSWIP, ASNT, etc.) requirements
• Proficient in assessing examination results accurately, sentencing welds, and reporting same, according to the relevant code/spec acceptance criteria
