Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an MEP CAD Operator.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Mandatory).
• Experience preparing MEP shop drawings, fabrication drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings.
• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical and Mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with international codes and Oil & Gas project requirements.

Responsibilities

Position: MEP CAD Operator

Contract Duration: 1 Month (Extendable)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MEP CAD Operator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings for Oil & Gas projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop, modify, and update Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Electrical system layouts.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents before drafting.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, and other disciplines to identify and resolve drawing conflicts.
• Prepare equipment installation drawings, material layouts, and MEP coordination drawings.
• Update drawings based on site conditions, engineering revisions, and client comments.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, client standards, and applicable international codes.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and document control procedures.
• Support engineers and project teams with drafting modifications and design updates.
• Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings to improve constructability and eliminate clashes.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality drawings while meeting project schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an MEP CAD Operator, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Mandatory).
• Experience in preparing MEP shop drawings, fabrication drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings.
• Good understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical, and Mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with international engineering codes, drafting standards, and Oil & Gas project requirements.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under tight project deadlines.
• Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience working on QatarEnergy, Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC), or other major Oil & Gas projects.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, Revit MEP, or other 3D coordination software is an added advantage.
• Understanding of P&IDs, equipment layouts, utility drawings, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with site engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients.
