Job summary

InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa is seeking an Assistant Chief Steward to uphold the highest cleanliness, sanitation, and organizational standards within our hotel’s food and beverage operations. You will support the Chief Steward in managing the stewarding team, ensuring health and safety compliance, and maintaining luxury service levels.

Responsibilities include overseeing staffing, training, inventory control, and budgeting for the department, while fostering teamwork and addressing issues

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience in stewarding or related roles, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service and kitchen operations.
• Proficient in inventory management and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee stewarding department daily operations including staffing and performance management.
• Manage dishwashing, kitchen cleaning and equipment sanitation to standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies, equipment, chemicals.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas and storage for cleanliness.
• Collaborate with culinary team to meet service and event needs.
• Develop training programs for new staff on cleaning techniques and safety.
• Assist in budgeting for stewarding; ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Foster a positive work environment with open communication.
• Address guest concerns promptly and stay informed on industry trends.
