Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B1) under Light Maintenance – Technical Engineering in Doha. You will deliver aircraft maintenance activities to directly support flight operations and provide specialized knowledge to ensure safe, effective and efficient operation.

Based in Doha, you will plan activities, release work, supervise technicians, and ensure compliance with procedures and safety standards while meeting customer requirements of QR procedures and dispatch

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
• Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or Trade or vocational aircraft maintenance qualification or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
• Holds a minimum 1 full Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO/QCAA, is must.
• For Internal applicant: minimum of 1 year job related aircraft certifying experience as EN.01.

Responsibilities

• Plan assigned activities in an effective and efficient manner, operate equipment or use tooling relative to assigned tasks within framework of Qatar Airways and Customer procedures.
• Review of work procedures and standards, propose improvements where procedures are not appropriate to ensure work processes are effective.
• Responsible for the final release of work accomplished. Ensure tasks are performed to meet company/ customer standards and target such as dispatch reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects.
• Ensure delivery standard of QR/customer products are met. Aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures.
• Provide satisfactory support to internal and external customers.
• Implement solutions to technical problems within his/her range of authority. Aircraft or components serviceability standards are maintained to meet schedule requirements.
• Supervise a team of mechanics or technical assistants, ascertaining task are efficiently performed and comply with procedures and meet task objectives.
• Provide guidance and or on the job training to the Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics reporting to this position.
• Establish the teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
• Regularly evaluate the teams’ objectives, plans , and procedures and revise when needed.
