InterContinental Hotels Group in Doha is seeking a Junior Sous Chef for La Mar, a Latin American-inspired restaurant in a luxury hotel. You will support daily kitchen operations, develop menus with the Head and Sous Chef, and manage a team of culinary professionals to deliver high-quality dishes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
• Experience with Latin American cuisine.
• Leadership and mentoring kitchen staff.
• Strong organizational skills in fast-paced environments.
• Creative menu development and food presentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Culinary qualification from a recognized institution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality of all dishes.
• Prepare, cook, and present Latin American-inspired dishes with attention to detail and creativity.
• Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop and update menus, ensuring the offerings align with the restaurant's concept.
• Oversee the training, mentoring, and performance of junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
• Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are upheld at all times.
• Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stock control, to maintain efficiency and reduce waste.
• Help manage kitchen costs, portion control, and other operational procedures to ensure financial targets are met.
• Support in creating an exceptional guest dining experience by contributing to innovative culinary offerings and maintaining high food standards.
