Job summary

InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa, part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, seeks a Sous Chef to lead the La Mar kitchen under the Chef de Cuisine. You will drive culinary excellence, ensure authentic Latin American cuisine, and maintain luxury dining standards.

You will mentor a diverse culinary team, manage mise en place, and collaborate with the Front of House to deliver memorable guest experiences in a high-volume luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with Latin American cuisine and related ingredients.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a multicultural culinary team.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Experience in high-volume, quality-driven restaurant environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Cuisine in daily kitchen operations and leadership.
• Ensure consistent dish preparation and presentation per recipes and standards.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Latin American ingredients, techniques, and flavours.
• Lead and coach culinary staff, manage mise en place, cooking, plating and service.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, temperature, and waste to optimize costs.
• Collaborate with front-of-house for smooth kitchen-restaurant communication.
• Assist with menu development, seasonal changes, and culinary activations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
