Job summary

MOVENPICK in Qatar is seeking a Kitchen Steward to uphold cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will wash and sanitize utensils, keep the dishwashing area organized, and assist the kitchen team with basic cleaning and setup tasks.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, able to stand long hours, and willing to learn. You must follow food safety and HACCP standards, report safety issues, and maintain grooming and uniform standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as steward or in a kitchen/cleaning role is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
• Able to work in a team with a positive attitude.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours and handle heavy loads.
• Good communication and willingness to learn.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils, dishes, glassware, and equipment.
• Keep kitchen dishwashing area clean, organized and waste-free.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain hygiene standards.
• Support kitchen team with basic cleaning and setup tasks.
• Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report damaged equipment or safety issues to supervisor.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Support chefs and kitchen team with basic operational tasks when needed.
• Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
