Job summary

AL KHALEEJ TRADING & CONTRACTING W.L.L in Doha is seeking an Instrument Tray Fitter to install, fabricate, and maintain instrument cable trays and supports for oil and gas projects. The role requires reading complex layout drawings and working per project specifications with strict safety standards.

The candidate should have 5+ years of relevant experience, knowledge of grounding/bonding, and the ability to work at heights. This is a full-time on-site position with project mobilization in Qatar.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in instrument tray fitting or cable tray installation.
• Ability to read and interpret installation drawings, cable tray routing, and isometric drawings.
• Familiarity with safety procedures, PTW requirements, and working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and align instrument cable trays, trunking, and supports.
• Read and interpret drawings and isometric schematics for tray routing.
• Measure, cut, bend, and fabricate trays and brackets as required.
• Install tray supports, clamps, fittings, and accessories.
• Ensure proper alignment, elevation, spacing, and secure fixing per drawings.
• Coordinate with technicians and electricians to avoid clashes on site.
• Follow PTW procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Job SummaryThe Instrument Tray Fitter is responsible for the installation, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of instrument cable trays, supports, and associated accessories in oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial projects. The candidate must be experienced in working with instrumentation cable routing systems, following approved drawings, project specifications, and site safety procedures.## 2. Key Responsibilities* Install, assemble, and align instrument cable trays, trunking, and associated support structures.* Read and interpret instrumentation layout drawings, cable tray routing drawings, and isometric drawings.* Measure, mark, cut, bend, and fabricate cable trays and support brackets as required.* Install tray supports, brackets, clamps, fittings, bends, tees, reducers, and other accessories.* Ensure proper tray alignment, elevation, spacing, and secure fixing according to approved drawings.* Coordinate with instrument technicians, electricians, and other site personnel to avoid clashes with existing services.* Assist in instrument cable routing and ensure adequate space for cable installation and maintenance.* Perform drilling, bolting, and basic fabrication activities using appropriate tools and equipment.* Inspect completed installations for quality, stability, and compliance with project requirements.* Follow permit-to-work (PTW) procedures, toolbox talks, and site-specific HSE requirements.* Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep the work area clean and organized.* Report installation issues, material shortages, and drawing discrepancies to the site supervisor.## 3. Educational Qualifications* ITI / Technical Trade Certificate in Fitting, Mechanical, or a related discipline is preferred.* Relevant technical training or equivalent practical experience may be considered.## 4. Experience and Technical Requirements* Minimum 5 years of experience in instrument tray fitting or cable tray installation.* Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial projects.* Knowledge of instrument cable tray systems, support installation, and tray accessories.* Ability to read and understand installation drawings and follow site instructions.* Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and basic fabrication tools.* Knowledge of cable tray installation practices, grounding/bonding requirements, and applicable project specifications.* Ability to work at heights and in industrial site environments while following safety procedures.## 5. Preferred Candidate Profile* Previous experience in major oil and gas or petrochemical projects.* Good teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.* Physically fit to perform site installation activities.* Available for project mobilization in Qatar.Note: Candidates must have relevant oil and gas industry experience.
