Job summary

Qatar Living in Doha seeks an experienced Mechanical Pipe Fitter for oil and gas projects in Qatar. The role involves pipe fitting, fabrication, installation, alignment, and maintenance of piping systems in accordance with engineering drawings, project specs, and safety standards.

Requires 5–8 years of experience; ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; able to read isometric drawings, P&IDs, and piping layouts.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related qualification preferred.
• Relevant technical training or practical experience in industrial piping may also be considered.
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial sectors is valued.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, piping layouts, and engineering specifications.
• Perform pipe fitting, cutting, beveling, alignment, and preparation for welding.
• Install and assemble carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems.
• Measure, mark, cut, and fit pipes according to project requirements.
• Install flanges, valves, gaskets, fittings, supports, and related piping components.
• Carry out pipe spool installation, fit-up, leveling, and alignment activities.
• Ensure correct pipe routing, dimensions, slope, and orientation as per approved drawings.
• Assist welding teams during pipe fit-up and fabrication activities.
• Support hydrotesting, pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning activities as required.
• Coordinate with supervisors, welders, riggers, and other mechanical personnel to meet project schedules.
• Inspect completed work and rectify fitting or alignment defects.
• Follow Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and applicable HSE procedures.
