Job summary

Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a PYP Teacher for maternity cover from 11 October to 17 December 2026. Deliver inquiry-based IB PYP lessons, maintain continuity, collaborate with the team, and assess student progress.

The role requires QTS/PGCE or equivalent and a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for IB PYP experience and excellent communication. The successful candidate will create an inclusive classroom, foster wellbeing, and contribute to school life during the cover

Qualifications

Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
IB PYP experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Ability to plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons.
Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver outstanding, inquiry-based lessons within the IB PYP framework.
Pick up existing planning and maintain continuity of learning, routines and relationships.
Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, specialists and PYP Coordinator to promote student agency.
Assess, record and report student progress in line with school policy.
Communicate with parents and build positive relationships.
Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that supports wellbeing.
Contribute to the wider life of EGA during the cover period.
