Job summary

Etqan Global Academy in Doha, Qatar, seeks a qualified PYP Teacher to cover maternity leave from 11 October to 17 December 2026. The role is within the IB World School context, delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons and ensuring continuity and stability for students.

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE/PGDE or equivalent) and a Bachelor's degree.
• Previous IB PYP experience is essential.
• Excellent classroom practice with engaging, well-structured lessons.
• Ability to adapt quickly to an established class and team.
• Experience of inquiry-based and transdisciplinary learning.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Fluent English speaker (native or near-native).
• Availability for immediate start; Qatar work rights preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver outstanding, inquiry-based lessons within the IB PYP framework.
• Pick up existing planning to maintain continuity of learning and routines.
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, specialists and the PYP Coordinator.
• Assess, record and report student progress in line with school policy.
• Communicate clearly with Parents and build positive relationships.
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Contribute to the wider life of Etqan Global Academy during the cover period.
