Job summary

International School of London Qatar seeks an experienced Drama educator to lead MYP Drama and DP Theatre in Doha. You will plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-driven lessons, developing performance, communication, collaboration and critical-thinking skills.

The role requires strong IB pedagogy, collaboration with coordinators, and a commitment to safeguarding, inclusive education, and high-quality assessments. You will direct school productions and support interdisciplinary arts initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, Education, or a closely related discipline.
• Recognised teaching qualification or certification appropriate to the role.
• Experience teaching IB MYP Drama/Arts and DP Theatre.
• Strong knowledge of theatre performance, production, directing, and practical drama techniques.
• Experience in curriculum planning, student assessment, and performance-based learning.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with IB Theatre assessment requirements, including practical and research-based components.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess MYP Drama and DP Theatre lessons aligned with IB curriculum requirements.
• Develop students' performance, creative expression, communication, collaboration and critical-thinking skills.
• Apply inquiry-based teaching approaches that encourage exploration and reflection.
• Introduce students to a broad range of theatrical styles, traditions and perspectives.
• Develop practical skills in acting, improvisation, directing and production.
• Differentiate instruction for varied abilities and experience.
• Integrate digital technologies and multimedia resources into theatre education.
• Plan and contribute to school theatre productions, performances and events.
• Direct or support student performances, rehearsals and productions.
• Support extracurricular drama clubs and interdisciplinary arts initiatives.
• Promote theatre as a means of cultural understanding and community connection.
• Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate schedules, facilities and resources.
• Maintain safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments and uphold safeguarding policies.
