Job summary

Amentum is seeking a skilled HVAC/R technician to install, operate, and maintain complex HVAC/R systems. The role includes troubleshooting, planning maintenance activities, and performing facility surveys to optimize efficiency.

The candidate must hold a High School diploma or GED, CFC/EPA Section 608 Certification, and formal HVAC/R training. Four years of practical HVAC/R experience and the ability to obtain a US CENTCOM medical exam and US Secret Security Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• CFC/EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal).
• HVAC/R training from military technical training, vocational college, or a four-year apprenticeship.
• Four years of practical experience with HVAC/R equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM Medical Exam.
• Must have or be able to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance. US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and seasonal overhaul to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Plan activities and conduct facility surveys.
• Manage HVAC/R fuel emissions and refrigerant handling programs for ACCOM II, ATCALS, Weather Systems, and related equipment.

Job description

Essential Responsibilities:

The designee shall be qualified to install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. Performs scheduled periodic maintenance and seasonal overhaul on systems and components to ensure maximum efficiency. Performs planning activities, and facility surveys. Manages HVAC/R fuel emissions and refrigerant handling programs and activities to support various ACCOM II systems identified in Table 4.5.1 – C2 Systems and Associated Support Equipment; Table 4.5.2 ATCALS Systems and Associated Support Equipment; Table 4.5.3 ATC Weather Systems and Associated Support Equipment; Table 4.5.4 C2 Air Control Squadron O&M Support, Table 4.5.5 Regional Maintenance Center O&M and Support Equipment.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma or GED. Must have applicable CFC/EPA certification such as Section 608 Certification (Universal). Formal HVAC/R training such as; military technical training school, vocational college, and/or a four (4) year apprentice program with experience in HVAC/R maintenance and repair.

• Four (4) years of practical experience with equipment the technician will maintain.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM Medical Exam

• Must have or be able to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance. NOTE: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
