Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a strategic Head of Quality (Assurance) for onshore Qatar projects in the oil & gas sector. You will lead QA activities, oversee QMS implementation, and ensure quality governance from design through handover to operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead all QA activities across multiple projects and align with objectives.
• Develop, implement, and improve Project Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Review contractor Quality Plans and quality deliverables.
• Ensure QA requirements in EPC contracts, PO, and supplier docs.
• Lead quality audit programs with contractors, vendors, and third parties.
• Drive continuous improvement using KPI analysis, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, PDCA.
• Monitor NCRs and implement corrective/preventive actions and root cause analyses.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/API/ASME and other industry standards.
• Coordinate with Operations/Start-Up for handover to operations.
• Coach and develop QA personnel across project teams.

We Are Hiring: Head of Quality (Assurance)

We are seeking an experienced Head of Quality (Assurance) to lead and manage all Quality Assurance activities for major Oil & Gas projects in Qatar. The successful candidate will oversee Quality Management Systems (QMS), contractor and vendor quality performance, audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality governance from conceptual design through commissioning and handover to operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all Quality Assurance activities across multiple projects and ensure alignment with project and corporate objectives.
• Develop, implement, manage, and continuously improve Project Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Review and approve contractor Quality Plans, procedures, processes, surveillance programs, and quality deliverables.
• Ensure quality requirements are incorporated into EPC contracts, purchase orders, supplier agreements, and vendor documentation.
• Lead quality audit programs involving contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party service providers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing KPI analysis, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, and other quality methodologies.
• Monitor and manage NCRs, corrective actions, preventive actions, and root cause analyses.
• Ensure compliance with international standards including ISO, API, ASTM, ASME, and other applicable industry requirements.
• Manage interfaces with Operations and Start-Up teams to ensure smooth handover and transition to operating assets.
• Coach, mentor, and develop Quality personnel while promoting quality awareness across project teams.
• Interface with PMTs, Operations, HSEQ, auditors, shareholders, EPC Contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Quality Auditor Certification / Lead Auditor Certification.
• Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis, or equivalent Quality Improvement qualifications.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of Quality experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory, management, or quality leadership capacity.
• Experience working with operators, EPC contractors, service companies, suppliers, and vendors.
• Experience managing Quality Assurance activities from conceptual design through commissioning and handover.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, manufacturing, fabrication processes, and project management systems.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 29001, ISO 17025, API Q1, API Q2, ASME, and related industry standards.
