Job summary

Senior leadership will own procurement budgeting, risk management, and performance improvement initiatives, while developing a high-performing procurement team aligned with policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification or professional certification (CIPS) is an advantage.
• Extensive leadership experience in procurement and commercial negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement strategy, policies, and procedures aligned with budgets.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to provide strategic leadership and oversight of procurement operations, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract coordination, and cost optimization. The role is responsible for establishing effective procurement strategies, strengthening governance and internal controls, and ensuring that procurement activities align with organizational objectives, budgetary requirements, and applicable policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement strategy, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational priorities, and approved budgets.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, tender evaluations, and supplier selection.
• Manage supplier relationships, lead commercial negotiations, and monitor vendor performance to ensure quality, timely delivery, and value for money.
• Oversee contract coordination with Legal and relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and delegated authorities.
• Lead procurement budgeting, expenditure monitoring, cost optimization, and commercial performance improvement initiatives.
• Oversee inventory management, stock control, and procurement records to ensure operational availability and efficient resource utilization.
• Lead and develop the procurement team, establishing performance objectives, promoting accountability, and strengthening professional capabilities.
• Establish procurement governance frameworks, internal controls, risk mitigation measures, and compliance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement, digitalization, and process optimization to enhance procurement efficiency and transparency.
• Monitor procurement KPIs and prepare management reports covering expenditure, sourcing performance, supplier effectiveness, compliance, and operational risks.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
• A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification, such as CIPS, is an advantage.
• Significant progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial negotiations, including substantial leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing procurement strategies, managing budgets, establishing governance frameworks, and overseeing complex sourcing activities.
• Experience leading teams and managing relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and service providers.
• Strong knowledge of procurement controls, contract management, supplier performance evaluation, and risk management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement platforms, and analytical reporting tools.
