Job summary

Power International Holding invites applications for Chief Accountant in Doha to oversee payroll, WPS compliance, and financial reporting. The role leads month-end and year-end closings, maintains the fixed assets register, and ensures IFRS adherence with strong internal controls.

GCC experience and professional certification are valued. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance with 8–10 years in senior accounting roles, plus advanced Excel and SAP FI/CO proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience in a senior role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Payroll & WPS, Month-End Closing, Fixed Assets, GL & Financial Reporting.
• Expert-level Excel with Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, dashboards, and financial modeling.
• Solid IFRS knowledge and financial controls.
• GCC experience preferred.
• CPA/ACCA/CMA certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll processing and ensure WPS compliance for timely salary payments.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities including accruals and reconciliations.
• Maintain Fixed Assets Register with depreciation, transfers and disposals.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Ensure IFRS compliance and adherence to local regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors and support annual audit processes.
• Supervise General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Preference: Candidates currently residing in Doha with transferable visa/NOC (if applicable) will be given priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee payroll processing and WPS compliance to ensure timely and accurate salary payments.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Maintain and control the Fixed Assets Register, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and local regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors and support annual audit processes.
• Supervise General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting role.
• Strong hands-on experience with: Payroll & WPS, Month-End Closing, Fixed Assets Accounting, General Ledger & Financial Reporting, Advanced SAP ERP user (FI/CO preferred).
• Expert-level Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, dashboards, and financial modeling.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial controls.
