Job summary

Aura Group in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a talented Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in authentic Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, including meze, seafood, and charcoal grilling.

The role requires 4–6 years of culinary experience with at least 2 years in a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie capacity, and GCC experience is highly desirable. Accommodation and medical insurance are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-6 years of culinary experience, including at least 2 years as Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
• Strong hands-on experience in Greek and Mediterranean cuisine.
• Experience in high-volume casual dining or upscale restaurant environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in the daily management of kitchen operations.
• Prepare and oversee the production of authentic Greek dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing training, coaching, and performance guidance.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to approved recipes and brand standards.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and waste management to maximize profitability.
• Manage kitchen scheduling and workflows to ensure smooth service operations.
• Enforce food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and support stock ordering processes.
• Monitor food costs and assist in maintaining budget targets.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, seasonal offerings, and special promotions.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of food products.
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and developing kitchen team members.
• Act as Kitchen Leader in the absence of the Executive Chef.
