Job summary

Al Jazeera Plus is seeking a producer for the AJ+ Reports Field Team to develop, report and deliver hard-hitting videos for a global Gen Z audience across platforms. You will own stories end-to-end from idea to publication, manage field operations and adapt edits to social formats while maintaining AJ+ editorial standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in newsrooms, strong scripting ability and experience with Premiere Pro.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is required.
• Arabic fluency or knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
• Experience hosting on camera or with hosts/correspondents is desirable.
• Proven experience in video journalism, field reporting and/or documentary-style production.
• Ability to originate and shape stories into compelling visual narratives.
• Strong understanding of digital-native formats for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and X.
• Ability to operate cameras in the field.
• Strong writing and scripting ability for video.
• Clear headlines and social captions matching AJ+'s style.
• Strong editing abilities across different social formats (Premiere Pro).
• Understanding AJ+'s editorial identity and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Produce videos from development to publication for AJ+ Reports.
• Pitch original field-led stories aligned with AJ+ editorial mission.
• Identify stories, characters and angles for global audiences.
• Write compelling scripts with rigorous sourcing and AJ+ voice.
• Produce short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook.
• Ensure factual accuracy and compliance with editorial guidelines.
• Develop relationships with contributors, fixers, and VJs.
• Provide direction to field crews on location or remotely.
• Coordinate coverage in high-risk environments with duty-of-care awareness.
• Maintain editorial identity, tone and strategic goals across content.
