Job summary

Al Jazeera Plus is seeking a multi-skilled and creative video producer to join the In Context team. You will own the end-to-end production process for explainers, from pitching and scripting to interviewing, sourcing visuals, and editing, delivering engaging and informative content for a diverse audience.

You thrive under tight deadlines, think on your feet, and stay calm under pressure. Hosting on camera is a strong asset but not required; you will work with editorial leadership to create

• At least 3 years experience in an editorial position.
• A proven track record of success.

• Find and gather appropriate visuals for assigned stories - this includes from wire services and third parties/persons
• Find, reach out and interview individuals who can be included in assigned stories to add nuance and analytical depth
• Write factually accurate scripts
• Ensure editorial, engagement, and creative standards
• Contribute to conversations around editorial and creative ideas in meetings and discussions.
• Assess new information and react quickly to editorial developments
• Carry out duties in line with Al Jazeera editorial guidelines and ethics

AJ+ is looking for a multi-skilled and creative video producer to join the In Context team. You're someone who is innately curious about why things are the way they are and enjoy every step of the production process. We want to ask the big, complex questions and unpack the answer for our audience in a way that is fun, super creative, engaging but still deeply informative. The In Context team works with tight deadlines and quick turnarounds, so the role requires someone who can work quickly, think on their feet, has a creative eye and can remain calm under stress. You'll be producing explainers from start to finish: this includes pitching, researching, scripting, interviewing, finding visuals and sometimes editing. If you're open to hosting on camera, that's a strong asset (but not required). With the guidance of AJ+s editorial leadership, you'll help create in-depth, hard-hitting and exciting video explainers for a diverse audience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
