Job summary

Al Jazeera Plus, INC. is seeking a Producer for the Daily Team to create daily content for AJ+ platforms, including videos, carousels, longer explanations and VJ material. Some hosting and voiceover work may be required.

English is essential; Arabic proficiency is a bonus, with a strong sense of what makes stories shareable on social media. You will pitch daily stories, assist Associate Producers, and collaborate with teams in Doha to ensure editorial alignment with AJ+ and Al Jazeera goals.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English; Arabic language fluency is not mandatory but recommended.
• Experience in video production or online journalism.
• Strong, fast, accurate video editing skills.
• A clear understanding of AJ+ editorial identity and the style of our content.
• Ability to work under tight pressure and deadlines.
• Ability to work long, flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
• Sound editorial judgment on a range of global issues.
• Adobe Premiere experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 Years' experience in an editorial position.

Job description

The Producer role on the Daily Team will produce daily content to a high standard, for output on AJ+ platforms. That will include daily videos and carousels, as well as longer form explanatory content and VJ material. It may also include occasional hosting and voiceover work. Arabic language skills are a strong bonus. This role is ideal for journalists with strong instincts for what makes a story shareable on social media, and an understanding of AJ+ English output. You will also need to have a strong grasp of the AJ+ English audience, and how it is different from the AJ+ Arabic and Al Jazeera English audiences. You'll need to bring daily pitches, as well as supporting Associate Producers on the team. As with all our journalists, Producers are expected to be on top of news from the Global South, especially stories that cover universal social justice issues. AJ+ is a unique digital news & storytelling project telling stories of human rights & equality, holding power to account, and amplifying voices of the powerless.
