Job summary

DB Engineering & Consulting seeks a GIS Specialist in Qatar to lead GIS databases, data integration, and spatial analysis for transport planning. You will support planning teams with advanced geospatial visualization and reporting, ensuring data governance and reliable GIS services across projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in GIS/Geomatics and a minimum of 10 years’ professional GIS experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and geodatabases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS/Geomatics/Geography or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional GIS experience.
• Proven experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and geospatial data management.
• Strong skills in spatial analysis, data governance, and visualization.
• Experience supporting transport or infrastructure programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance, and enhancement of GIS databases for TDMS.
• Manage collection, integration, and spatial analysis of transport datasets.
• Develop geospatial data models, mapping products, and services for planning.
• Support planning, traffic engineering, and modelling teams with spatial analysis.
• Administer GIS platforms, geodatabases, and ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
• Produce GIS dashboards, maps, and spatial reports for MOT and stakeholders.
• Establish data standards, metadata, and governance practices.
• Coordinate with government agencies and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of GIS databases supporting the Transport Data Management System (TDMS).
• Manage the collection, integration, validation, and spatial analysis of transport, mobility, infrastructure, and land-use datasets.
• Develop and maintain geospatial data models, digital mapping products, and spatial information services for transport planning and decision-making.
• Support transport planning, traffic engineering, and modelling teams through advanced spatial analysis and visualization tools.
• Administer GIS platforms, geodatabases, and ArcGIS Enterprise environments to ensure data accessibility, security, and reliability.
• Produce GIS dashboards, thematic maps, web mapping applications, and spatial reporting tools for MOT and stakeholders.
• Establish GIS data standards, quality control procedures, metadata requirements, and geospatial governance practices.
• Coordinate with government agencies and external stakeholders to facilitate data sharing, integration, and continuous improvement of transport geospatial assets.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in GIS, spatial analytics, geospatial database management, or transport-related GIS applications.
• Proven experience implementing and managing ArcGIS Enterprise, enterprise geodatabases, and web-based GIS solutions.
• Strong expertise in spatial analysis, geoprocessing, data integration, cartography, and geospatial visualization.
• Experience supporting transport planning, mobility analytics, transportation modelling, or infrastructure management programs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GIS data governance, metadata management, data quality assurance, and geospatial standards.
• Experience working with government agencies, transport authorities, or large-scale infrastructure programs; GCC experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, stakeholder coordination, and technical reporting skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
