Job summary

Altea Energy is seeking a GIS Installation Supervisor for a 6‑month project in Qatar. The role requires extensive experience with high‑voltage substation GIS installations, especially Siemens Energy GIS (8DQ1/8DN9), and certification.

You will lead on‑site installation, coordinate teams, ensure HSE compliance and documentation, and liaise with clients and authorities. Required are 10+ years HV substation experience, 5+ years GIS supervision, English fluency, and availability from March 2027.

Qualifications

• Mandatory prior experience on Kahramaa projects in Qatar.
• Siemens Energy GIS installation certification or OEM training required.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in high‑voltage substation projects.
• At least 5 years' hands‑on GIS installation supervision, ideally at 220/400 kV.
• Proven experience with Siemens Energy GIS, preferably 8DQ1 and/or 8DN9.
• Strong knowledge of GIS assembly procedures, QA, HSE and site coordination.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Available from March 2027 for up to 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation, erection and assembly of GIS equipment on site.
• Ensure works follow Siemens Energy procedures, drawings, method statements and HSE.
• Coordinate installation teams, subcontractors and site interfaces.
• Monitor mechanical assembly, gas handling, checks, torqueing and alignment.
• Review progress, identify technical issues and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure installation records, checklists, punch lists and quality docs are completed.
• Coordinate with commissioning teams for handover and testing readiness.
• Liaise with client, project management and local authorities as required.
