Job summary

Category in Qatar seeks a skilled Environmental/Instrumentation professional to oversee ambient air quality monitoring stations (AAQMS) installations and operations, including mobile units. You will supervise O&M contractor performance, ensure equipment reliability, and maintain security of assets.

The role requires a Diploma in Electronics, Instrumentation, Meteorology, Environmental Science, or similar, plus 5 years of AAQMS experience and a valid Qatar driving license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable operations of ambient air quality monitoring stations in assigned areas through continuous monitoring of equipment performance.
• Monitor outsourced O&M contractor activities by reviewing reports and QC activities to ensure proper operation.
• Ensure property and equipment are secure.
• Verify that contractor-supplied spare parts are original and per specifications.
• Control all operational and maintenance activities at ambient air quality stations and related control systems.
• Review data to detect abnormalities and report to the section for action.
• Keep records of station inventories, data, reports, logs, and certificates for traceability.
• Maintain systems to track maintenance, calibrations, and re-certifications on schedule and verify contractor compliance.
• Report HSE statistics monthly for contractors.
• Be available 24x7 during emergencies and provide ambient air quality and meteorological data to investigators.
• In incidents, move mobile AAQM station to incident location with proper permits and power supply.
• Assist during audits with the Technical Systems and Performance Audit Contractor.
• Conduct independent internal audits to verify AAQM station performance.
• Make regular station visits to oversee station functions (AC maintenance, generator tests, pest control, and general maintenance).
• Raise SAP requests and coordinate with maintenance for overall station upkeep.
• Raise SAP requests for troubleshooting Air Quality Modelling Servers.

Industry Pharmaceutical Sales & Medical Affairs

• Ensure reliable operations of the stationary and mobile Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (AAQMS) in assigned areas through continuous monitoring of the equipment performance.
• Monitor the activities of the outsourced Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Contractor at site by reviewing daily reports, calibration reports, maintenance activities/reports, and Quality Control (QC) activities performed to ensure proper operation of the stations.
• Ensure property and equipment are secure.
• Verify that the spare parts interchanged by the contractor are original and as per approved specifications.
• Control all operational and maintenance activities at the ambient air quality stations and ensure all control systems related to the ambient air quality networks.
• Review and evaluate data to detect possible abnormalities related to the functioning of the stations and report to the section for further action.
• Keep records of all station inventories, data, reports, logs, and certificates to ensure traceability of results generated.
• Maintain systems to track schedules for maintenance, calibrations, and re-certifications on a timely basis and verify compliance by the Contractor.
• Report HSE statistics of the Contractors on a monthly basis.
• During emergencies, be available 24x7 and participate in incident investigations and provide ambient air quality and meteorological data to the investigating team.
• In case of incidents, ensure movement of the mobile monitoring AAQM station to the incident location by obtaining proper permits and securing power supply, etc.
• Accompany and assist the Technical Systems and Performance Audit Contractor during scheduled audits.
• Conduct independent first-party internal audits to verify AAQM station performance.
• Make regular station visits to oversee overall station functions (e.g., AC maintenance, generator tests, pest control, and general maintenance of the stations).
• Raise SAP requests and coordinate with the maintenance division for overall station maintenance.
• Maintain and raise SAP requests for troubleshooting Air Quality Modelling Servers.
• Diploma in Electronics / Instrumentation / Meteorology / Environmental / Science (Chemistry, Physics) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years Ambient Air Quality Monitoring-related experience, preferably directly related to the O&M activities of Ambient Air Quality Stations.
• Possess a valid Qatar driving license.
• Professional certification or license from a credible meteorological, environmental, or related association/society is an advantage.
• Technical understanding of air quality monitoring and environmental/meteorology requirements is essential.
• Proven ability to organize and perform responsibilities with minimum supervision.
