Job summary

Hey Rocket is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join a major infrastructure and DNO&M project in Qatar. You will review plans, inspect contractor activities, and support audits to ensure ISO-aligned quality management across projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in QA/QC, strong English skills, and familiarity with ISO 9001/50001; Middle East experience is preferred, with a focus on safety and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant subject.
• 10+ years of relevant QA/QC experience.
• Experience implementing QMS to ISO 9001 and ISO 50001.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary organization, preferably in the Middle East.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety policies and procedures.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic useful.

Responsibilities

• Review annual Quality Plans and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and standards.
• Inspect Framework Contractor activities to meet contractual quality requirements.
• Review ITPs and monitor their implementation.
• Support audits and conduct Second Party / Framework Contractor audits.
• Review QA/QC reports, NCRs, observations and inspection records.
• Coordinate QA/QC with Area Engineers and contractors; raise NCRs when needed.
• Maintain QA/QC policies, manuals and ITPs; promote quality improvements.
• Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & CONTROL ENGINEER (QA/QC ENGINEER)

Location: Qatar

Job Type: Long-term

We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join a major infrastructure and DNO&M project in Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review annual Quality Plans submitted by Framework Contractors and ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures and standards
• Conduct inspections of Framework Contractor activities and ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements
• Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and monitor their implementation
• Support internal DNO&M audits and conduct Second Party / Framework Contractor Audits
• Review QA/QC reports, NCRs, observations and inspection records
• Coordinate the resolution of Technical Queries (TQs), Concession Requests (CRs) and NCRs
• Conduct Rainy Season Preparedness Audits
• Carry out inspections for new asset/project handovers
• Conduct spares inspections and witness critical inspections/testing
• Raise Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) when required
• Maintain QA/QC policies, manuals, procedures and ITPs
• Coordinate QA/QC activities with Area Engineers, Framework Contractors and relevant departments
• Provide expert QA/QC advice for complex, high-risk and cross-functional activities
• Promote quality improvement and identify relevant quality training requirements
• Ensure compliance with new business processes and recommend opportunities for improvement
• Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Escalate technical issues requiring further consultation to the Engineering Advisor/Expert

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant subject
• Degree must be obtained from North America, Western Europe, or Australia
• 10+ years of relevant experience in QA/QC
• Chartered Membership in a relevant professional body is preferred and will be an advantage
• Experience implementing and maintaining QMS to ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 standards
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary organization, preferably in the Middle East
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Arabic communication skills would be an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Must be physically fit to enter and work in confined spaces and able to undertake the required competency assessment
