Job summary

ADB SAFEGATE in Doha, Qatar is seeking a System Engineer to maintain Airfield Lighting Control Monitoring System (ALCMS), SAM and AiPRON Manager, ensuring reliable operation of critical airport electronics and safety systems.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience with electronics equipment and SCADA, strong leadership, multi-language communication, and a solid grasp of ICAO/FAA/BAA regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in electronics equipment and SCADA systems.
  • Competent in AGL regulatory QCAR/ICAO/BAA/FAA framework.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of Airfield Lighting.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the System/ALCMS/SAM/AiPRON Manager maintenance team and electronics systems.
  • Analyses equipment failures and determines root cause.
  • Assesses safety hazards and enforces safety rules.
  • Manages technicians, plan/schedule work, and supervise performance.
  • Oversees external parties and subcontractors; maintains records and reports.

The Opportunity

The System Engineer objectives are;

  • Manages the maintenance of Airfield Lighting Control Monitoring System (ALCMS), SAM, and AiPRON Manager systems.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the constant current regulators and ILCMS.
  • Manages the maintenance of Auxiliary Electronic Systems including Fire Detection/Alarm, BMS, and VoIP
  • Plans and implements activities to meet those needs and does related work as required
Job Description;
  • Manages the System/ALCMS/SAM/AiPRON Manager maintenance team with direct responsibility for the maintenance of electronics systems and devices installed.
  • Analyses equipment failures and determines root cause.
  • Assesses and reports about safety hazards involved in the maintenance activities.
  • Enforces safety rules and regulations.
  • Manages a team of Technicians, including supervision, planning, organization, and evaluation of work.
  • Adjust assignments, procedures and schedules as necessary.
  • Trains other employees and supports performance evaluations.
  • Schedules and assigns work including overtime, vacations, and time off.
  • Manages the execution of maintenance tasks under defined scope.
  • Reviews records and reports related to ALCMS/SAM/AiPRON maintenance.
  • Inspects airport facilities and recommends corrective action.
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system for scheduling maintenance.
  • Overseas and reviews work performed by external parties and subcontractors.
  • Supports management in overall execution of maintenance operations.
  • Recommends additional capital equipment and spare parts requirements.

Required Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in electronics equipment and SCADA systems
  • Competent in AGL regulatory QCAR/ICAO/BAA/FAA framework
  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of Airfield Lighting
  • Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools used in this work
  • Ability to interpret, understand and effectively carry out complex oral and written technical instructions
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and submit recommendations for improved maintenance operations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and airport operator
  • Considerable ability to supervise, train, motivate and inspect the work of subordinates
Requirements:
  • Language know-how: English (Nr 1 priority), any other language is an asset.
  • Qatari Driving License
