Job summary

CAE Middle East LLC in Doha, Qatar is seeking a highly skilled Technical Advisor with a strong engineering background to support Flight Simulator Training Devices and related systems. You will resolve complex issues, lead cross-functional troubleshooting, and ensure device performance aligns with aviation standards.

As the primary focal point for software, hardware, and QTGs, you will liaise with CAE Montreal teams, authorities, and customers, while traveling internationally as required to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of CAE software and applications, including CAE tools and platforms.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages: C, C++, FORTRAN, Perl.
• Experience with Microsoft development tools for Windows (Visual Studio 6.0 and higher).
• Knowledge of simulated systems and avionics interfaces (SIM XXI, CAE R3/R4/R5).
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug integrated systems; understand software configuration management.
• Willingness to travel internationally and engage with aviation authorities.

Responsibilities

• Act as Technical Advisor and SME for Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTD) and Cabin Crew Training Devices.
• Perform systems analysis and design for training device projects.
• Maintain QA and calibration per CAE guidelines.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and provide on-the-job training to engineers and technicians.
• Provide short-term dispatch support including AOG situations.
• Develop, test, integrate, and present software fixes for simulators.
• Monitor issues in SimIssues and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate with CAE Montreal, authorities, and customers during commissioning and reviews.
• Support simulator installation and acceptance testing; assist with QTGs and authority communications.
