Job summary

CAE is seeking an experienced FSTD Technician/Engineer to provide technical support for flight simulator training devices and related systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, readiness checks, and device updates, while diagnosing and resolving issues, including AOG events.

You will document activities in CMMS and support performance monitoring through reports. You may act as shift lead or team lead and will mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, or aerospace engineering.
• 7+ years of experience with Flight Simulation Training Devices or similar systems.
• Fluent English, strong written and spoken.
• Customer oriented with professional conduct.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexible shifts and changing schedules.
• Strong understanding of aircraft and FSTD terminology.
• Ability to read schematics and technical docs related to FSTDs.
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance and Daily Readiness activities.
• Good troubleshooting across electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency with test equipment and diagnostic software.
• Basic knowledge of computer architecture, networking, OS, and programming (C, C++, FORTRAN).
• Knowledge of EASA/FAA regulations related to FSTDs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for FSTDs and training devices, including maintenance calls and demonstrations.
• Perform PMTs, DR, QTG runs, ADB updates, and IOS LP updates per standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve training device issues, including AOG events.
• Record, track, and report deficiencies in CMMS and TCOPS systems.
• Mentor juniors and provide OJT; lead as shift or team lead when assigned.
• Develop and update procedures for routine and non-routine tasks.
• Collaborate with specialists on advanced testing and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to permanent corrective actions and device improvements.
• Support projects aligned with Training Center needs.
