Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a Manager Business Finance to lead preparation of financial information, monitor variances against budget, and implement cost control. You will support middle management with business cases, dashboards and analyses while ensuring compliance with QR accounting policies.

You will develop advanced financial models, drive strategic planning, and lead a team to deliver timely month-end/quarterly analyses and forecasts for senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
• Experience in B2C, Loyalty & Marketing.
• Must have the ability to analyse, interpret data and present effectively.
• At least 5 years in management role.
• Experience working to tight internal reporting timescales and managing responsibilities/work interruptions, while meeting deadlines.
• Good knowledge of internal finance system.
• Knowledge of cost center accounting, preparing budgets and forecasts.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review variances, understand business cycle and their impact on the profit and loss account.
• Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, MS Access and Power Point and have proficiency with Oracle Financials.
• Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor internal accounting policies and SOPs.
• Facilitate risk management process and mitigation activity through trend analysis and impact modelling.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods and oversee month end / year end closing.
• Develop advanced financial models and conduct analyses using quantitative tools.
• Participate in the annual strategic planning process including budgeting and forecasting.
• Develop business partner relationships with leaders of assigned areas.
• Introduce value-focused thinking for project proposals.
• Prepare, analyse and present monthly KPI performance to budget holders.
• Prepare, analyse and present quarterly rolling forecasts to stakeholders.
• Analyse actuals, forecasts, and budgets for senior management against benchmarks.
• Review commercial contracts and proposals for policy alignment.
• Present objective views of financials and allocate resources efficiently.
• Lead budgeting processes for Direct Operational Costs, Manpower and Overheads.
• Enhance presentation and analysis for Cost Management Committee and post-CMC analysis for capex.
• Conduct in-depth analysis on strategic projects and provide recommendations to business.
• Monitor expenditure variances and take control actions as needed.
• Prepare/Review financial forecasts and address risks and opportunities.
• Control over inventory levels and reorder quantities.
