Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Doha, Qatar is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems in guest rooms and public areas, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate with front office, security and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.

The role requires hands-on technical knowledge, strong safety practices, and the ability to read blueprints and test equipment. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
• 2 years experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Read blueprints, schematics and technical parts breakdowns.
• Competent oral and written English communication skills.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures (fire, medical, gas, electrical failures).

Responsibilities

• Maintain guest rooms and public areas electrical and plumbing systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel M&E equipment.
• Read meters and log readings daily.
• Assist with energy conservation and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with Front Office and other departments.
• Respond promptly to emergencies to protect guests and property.
